    This article is misleading and dangerous, how can you publicly publish that Whiskey combats Dementia and Alzheimer??? Or did you not know that Alzheimer’s IS dementia?? You need to remove this article before your misguided advice kills someone!!!       Regarding the specifics mentioned in your comment, Alzheimer’s disease is a form of dementia and is not the same as dementia. Research across the globe has linked moderate drinking to reduced risk of dementia, primarily because it reduces stress levels.
      Whiskey is a low yet instant energy source because of its chemical composition. It also induces sleep as it acts as a minor tranquilizer.

As a person who has Alzheimer’s in my family history, I know what the disease is and what it affects. Thank you for your correct clarification, I’m very impressed with this site and your knowledge.

    You need to do YOUR research. My mom had dementia and when we discussed this with the doctor he said it was NOT Alzheimer’s. Two different things, though they are similar. And get off your high horse, this article is NOT telling people to go out and drink a bottle of whiskey…well, at least intelligent people will understand that!

    Interesting reading. I do love a good dram and I’ve long believed that some moderate drinking, a dram a night for instance, is beneficial. This article I would say should not be taken as an incentive to over indulge, but a dram won’t hurt and could help. The other comments, especially Brian’s, are moronic and have taken the concepts of the article to literally.
