Eat healthy and stay hydrated
It has been found that lack of water in the body prevents nutrients to reach hair roots. So, it is recommended to avoid fatty foods, alcohol and caffeine as they can dehydrate body quickly.
This fruit is loaded with Vitamin-B12, zinc and iron which can prohibit grey hair. These nutrients can promote the growth of pigment melanin.
This fish is rich in omega-3 fatty acid and contains protein and Vitamin-B. People consuming salmon fish have lesser chance of having premature greying and tend to maintain better hair color.
Gooseberry or amla
Antioxidants, essential fatty acids and Vitamin-C are healthy hair promoting nutrients present in this fruit. Antioxidants in it prevent hair from premature aging and graying. Even massaging head using amla oil can increase blood circulation thereby improving hair density.
Grey hair treatment – Walnuts
Add walnuts in your diet as they are rich in copper. Copper is known for increasing the production of pigment melanin, thus aiding in retaining the color of your hair.
Massage of coconut oil and fenugreek seeds
Combination of Coconut oil and curry leaves or fenugreek seeds can be beneficial in delaying the onset of grey hair. Coconut oil has the ability to reduce protein loss in hair. It is recommended to boil coconut oil with any of the recommended ingredients. Massage for 15-20 minutes and keep it overnight. Wash it the next morning. Repeat to see lustrous and thick hair.
Acacia Concinna hair pack
Acacia Concinna or shikakai is a traditional way of preventing hair fall and inhibiting premature greying. Soak shikakai, reetha (soapnut) and amla or gooseberry in water overnight. Make a paste of this mixture and apply on your hair. Keep the mixture for 45 minutes then rinse it with lukewarm water. Do it once a week to get nourished and healthy hair.
Ridge gourd for hair
Ridge gourd which is commonly known as loofah is most often used for scrubbing body. Many people won’t know, but this vegetable is extremely helpful in treating premature aging. Ridge gourd helps in strengthening hair roots and can reestablish the black pigment. Cut 1 ridge gourd in few pieces and completely dry it by keeping under the sun. Immerse these pieces in coconut oil for 3-4 days. Now, heat the oil with ridge gourd till it becomes black. Remove the vegetable pieces and massage the hair oil. You can even store the oil for many days and massage it daily to reap its benefits.
Grey hair treatment – Sesame oil hair pack
Sesame oil has been described as a remedy for premature aging in Ayurveda. You can make a hair mask using sesame oil & carrot juice (250 ml each) and soaked fenugreek seeds. Make a paste of fenugreek seeds and mix it with sesame oil and carrot juice. Apply thoroughly on your scalp and keep it for 45 minutes. Rinse it off.
Almond oil and lemon juice
Try out the combination of lemon juice and almond oil. Rub the mixture on your scalp and keep it for some time before washing it.
